What Is Forestry Mulching?

Forestry mulching is a one-step land clearing process using a high-powered machine that grinds trees and vegetation into mulch on-site—no burning, no hauling. These machines can shred trees up to 12” in diameter and are ideal for quickly clearing underbrush, overgrown fields, saplings, and invasive species. Even old stumps and logs can be reduced to sawdust if they’re aged enough.

The end result is a layer of fine mulch that helps prevent erosion, retains moisture, and can be easily maintained with a mower or brush hog.

 How Much Does It Cost?

Pricing varies by terrain, vegetation type, and project size. On larger jobs (10+ acres) in ideal conditions, rates can be as low as $800 per acre!

You may also qualify for state or federal cost-sharing programs that cover up to 50% or more of your project! (Ask us how.)

Before We Arrive – What to Know

To help us deliver a safe and efficient job, please prepare with the following:

 End Result: Final appearance depends on site conditions and time spent. Light areas may be near bare dirt; heavier brush leaves a thick mulch layer.

 Operator Arrival: You’ll receive a text with ETA. Please be on-site for a quick walkthrough before work begins.

 Access & Space: Our setup is ~50’ long (truck + trailer). Clear parking and turnaround space.

 Gate Clearance: The machine needs at least 7’ width for entry through gates/fence lines.

 Mark the Work Area: Use tape or paint to flag property lines, obstacles, or trees you want to save.

 Identify Hazards: Mark cliffs, wetlands, and manmade hazards (fencing, car parts, metal debris, wire, etc.)—these can damage equipment and delay work.

 Permits: Verify whether land clearing permits are required in your jurisdiction.

 Safety Perimeter: Mulching heads can throw debris up to 300’. Keep people, animals, and valuables outside this radius. Never approach the machine from the front or back while in operation.

 Secure Pets & Children: Keep animals and kids indoors or at a safe distance.

 Notify Neighbors: The process is loud—especially near property lines.
